Applecare+ on months old MBA?

I bought an M1 MacBook Air a few months ago from the Apple Refurbished store and I forgot to buy AppleCare+ within the two-week period after buying the device.

At first I thought, ah well, it's not a super expensive computer, if it breaks, it breaks. But the more I've seen people have screen issues, the more I've regretted not reaching out to Apple right away to see if I could still buy it.

Does anyone know, can I add AppleCare+ several months later, like have Apple inspect my computer to make sure there are no issues with it before adding it like insurance companies will do with a car, or is that not an option?

If not, anyone recommend any other good insurance options for a MacBook Air? Considering I travel with it all the time, it would be good to have some accidental protection on it.

You have 60 days from the purchase day to add apple care +

from the apple UK website where i am, and US store

How to buy​

1. Purchase AppleCare+ with your new Mac.
2. Or buy it within 60 days of your Mac purchase:
   • On your device (go to  > About This Mac > Support)
   • Online (requires you to verify your serial number)
   • At an Apple Store (inspection of Mac and proof of purchase are required)
   • By calling 0800 107 6285

I just found out also if you visit https://mysupport.apple.com/ and log in you should see a list of devices including your Macbook Air, if you click on it, it will tell you if you can add AppleCare or not!
