I have 42 days remaining to add AppleCare+ to my new iPhone 12 Pro. I’ve never had it on any of the devices I’ve owned.

Any claims that I’ve had to do have always been through personal content cover on our home insurance.

Is there any benefit to AppleCare+ instead of just claiming as I have always done for any accidents!?

Thanks,
Stuart.

I know my phone insurance doesn’t cover a crack in the back of my iPhone so Apple covers this in Apple care +.

My phone insurance is with nationwide thought my bank account.

Good shout about the back.

Although anytime I have claimed through home insurance, whether it be the front and / or back cracked, I’ve just had the phone replaced from them!

Although I'm not currently in the UK ...... When I was I avoided using home contents insurance for phones for a couple of reasons.

Will potentially mess up your claims history, so a potential impact on your premium and also need to declare a claim if you change companies. The other thing for me is the convenience of AC+ .... yes its expensive but IMHO worth it

I would never make a claim on a homeowners insurance or renters insurance policy unless it was very high $$$. It will probably appear on your claim history, and just a couple claims on your claim history in a few year span can increase your rates or cause you to be dropped all together. (At least here in USA).

I would absolutely go with AppleCare+, even if it costs you a bit more money.

I claimed for an Apple Watch broken screen through Aviva. A few months later my policy went up by £750! Never again.
