AppleCare+ or something else?

Hi all!

First iPhone user here and owner of the new 6s Plus.

I am looking into extended warranty options and need your opinion and thoughts on what to purchase. AppleCare+ looks like a solid investment, but I was wondering if there's something else I can look for that's cheaper without compromising reliability.

To note, I purchased via the AT&T store as a preorder with my Discover card. Does this add any benefit via the credit card?
