I didn’t cancel the AppleCare+ on my 14PM before trading it in for the 15PM in 2023. Apple sent me an email stating that I was eligible for a refund of the unused AppleCare+ from my 14PM that I ended up receiving late last year.
Yes but you couldn’t do it on the phone you have to call in…

You can extend one-time purchase AC+ after two years in quite a few regions.
In the US that's not possible anymore. I read that when my 16 Pro Max was offering the AC+/ It said monthly for a max of two years. Its probably been pointed out already in this thread but I don't come here that often much anymore.

What are you referencing?

The 16 lineup hasn’t been out long enough to have paid in full coverage expire.

Just FYI, you are still able to purchase AppleCare+ outright over the phone by escalating the call after they tell you it is no longer an option. ****ing greedy scumbags.

The 16 Pro Max when I was offered Apple Care. It said that it would only be covered for two years if I paid monthly. In the past, it used to extend beyond that as long as you kept paying monthly, this was going back to the XS Max as I said above.

I don’t see anything on the apple site that indicates that you can’t keep the monthly (or yearly) Apple Care subscription going.

this is from the video on the purchase page explaining how Apple Care works.

The US AppleCare+ Terms & Conditions and Apple Online Store don’t support that. Are you in a different region?

In either case, that doesn’t disqualify paid in full coverage from being extended, as that still remains an option.

No I'm in the US. Again I said this was back with the XS Max that they did this with.

Your initial reply to me didn’t mention anything about a Xs Max and made it seem like the option to re-enroll was no longer available.

Maybe that’s where the confusion is from.

I recently sold my M3 Max MBP 14 to a buyer and learned from Apple Support that I can't transfer my active AppleCare+ plan to the new owner.

Apparently, if I had purchased the 3-year plan upfront then I can transfer to another person (which I've done before with another MacBook). But this time around I had elected for the yearly AppleCare+ plan and that's apparently different and locked to my AppleID for billing purposes, and cannot be transferred to someone else. The laptop is still covered for the new owner but they won't be able to renew the plan themselves, unless they pay me to renew it on their behalf each year or just let the plan lapse.

You always have the option to sign up for AC+ on device for up to 60 days after purchase and the two year plan comes with the option to extend it on a monthly/yearly basis depending on market until the device is considered “vintage” by apple.
Is my MM 2018 now "Vintage"?

Depends on the device……
AC+ saved me more tan i would have spent with repairs, and my device was in my hands quickly.
Same here. Back in the year 2019 I purchased a Refurbished Intel Mac mini 2018 from the Apple Store. At the same time I purchased the three(3) year Apple Care+ plan and extended the coverage with the yearly Annual Plan to this date. My present Annual Plan expires June 6,2025 and I am considering if I should extend it for one(1) more year as my Mac mini 2018 fits the definition of being "Obsolete" by the Apple Folks, thus, as I understand it they will not furnish parts/fix Macs that are considered "Obsolete". Y

Your comments will be greatly appreciated if I should renew my Apple Care+ contract next month.
