It seems like Adorama is running a Closeout special on AppleCare for Mac Mini. The 3 year protection plan is available for 49$. So thought I'd share it here with fellow members who are looking to get extended protection.

Although it is different than AppleCare+ (which Apple sells for 99$), I think it's a pretty cool price to extend the Apple Warranty on our 2018 devices for a total of 3 years. I was able to call Apple and get the warranty registered as their online portal didn't show an option to enter the registration number.

Oops. Seems like it’s sold out so quickly!

Of all Apple's products, I believe the Mini has the best reputation for not needing many repairs.
They seem to run well for a long time.

As such, I wouldn't bother with AppleCare, even at a discount price.

AppleCare+ for a Mini?
Why would anyone need to pay extra for that?
The thing just sits back out-of-the-way on the desk and is hardly ever touched!

I agree with you. Never bought AppleCare for my 2011/12 Mac Minis and they ran/are still running solid! However, for the 2018 Mini, I thought 49$ is a perfect investment against the new T2 chip whose long term performance/issues are still unknown ;)

I guess that it hasn’t occurred to you that some of the purchasers of this computer are doing so in part because it can easily be moved around.

Meanwhile, my mini cost US$1600 + $142 tax + $300 in additional RAM.

AppleCare+, with coverage to January 2022, costs me the grand sum of 9 cents a day.
