Applecare purchase

    Can you let a neighbor who is a student buy Applecare for you and then you use it to register it?

    Yes
    It doesn't matter where you bought applecare from. The redemption code is the most important thing.

    Yes. You may want to check out B&H Photo - they've got some of the best prices on Applecare around and are an authorized Apple dealer. Great company - I've bought gear from them for years.

    For MacBook, MacBook Air, & 13" MacBook Pro:
    Apple Store - $249
    B&H - $190.53
    Apple Edu Disc - $183.00

    Education Discount is still least expensive, but you don't need a neighbor to buy from B&H....

    yes.

    but usually ebay is cheaper than the student discount version.

    use ebay.
