I received a new Apple Watch Series 8 today, which was ordered with AppleCare+ coverage at the time of order. The order says it will activate automatically. Yet after pairing and setting up the new watch, it does not show as having coverage, and asks me to purchase it. It also does not show up in my list of devices. When I manually enter the serial number to search, it does not show activated.

Any ideas? Does it just take a while, or am I supposed to do something?

It can take a minute. I’m the past it’s taken as long as a week I believe. I would wait until tomorrow and if it’s not active call Apple

As mentioned above, it takes some time. If it doesn’t happen within a couple days I’d contact Apple

Thanks everyone. I received the “Proof of Coverage” email a couple hours after posting this. I’ll check again and see if it’s active tomorrow.

I had spoken to an Apple support rep once about this for a new iphone. He said generally takes about 72 hours to appear sometimes sooner if the device is restarted within that time frame after initial activation. And that has been my experience every time with each new device I’ve activated.
