So I've given thought since I received my 7 on release day and something is telling me to get ac+ for this iPhone (never have before from iPhone 4 through 6s). So since I'm going to bite the bullet, I swear I read somewhere you can sign up online and they'll send a diagnostic text and you go from there. However on apples website you only are given a phone number or told to go in store. Does anyone have the link to do it online? Or am I crazy and made up that existence? Thanks!

You have to call in,the support rep then sends you a diagnostic text that reports to them the phone is ok. They then email you a link to purchase apple care for your phone. Once done you will get an email and a few weeks later you will get a certificate showing proof of apple care. This is also dependent on where you live as well,I live in Florida and I guess there is some law here where only a "Special" rep can sell Apple Care to me over the phone.

Out of curiosity, what's different about iPhone 7 that's prompting you to get AC+ for it, considering that you didn't get it for iPhones 4 through 6s?

I plan to keep it mostly caseless except for when I'm at work. I've had cases on every other phone at all times
At the bottom of the page, there is a link to request AC+ online. You will need your device's serial number, a diagnostic test will need to be completed. I haven't completed the steps because my phone is in a vicious arrival/departure look in China...ugh!:(

Thanks! I'm trying to figure it out now. For whatever reason when I put in the serial number to verify, an exclamation point comes up next to "eligible for AppleCare+" and I don't know why. Does buying through Verizon affect eligibility?
Yours will be in your hands soon enough though!

All this means is you're eligible to get AC+. (!) doesn't mean "not." Basically, you don't yet have AC+ but you're eligible.

This is good to know, as I too was pretty baffled as to how I could get AppleCare for my JB iPhone 7+ after it finally arrived. I kept trying to add AppleCare+ to my shopping cart through the store app but that didn't work.

When I finally did get directed to that page, I didn't see that part at the bottom you pointed out until just now. They really should either put that towards the top or make it easier to see or maybe even link it from the page where you can add AppleCare to your cart.

Edit: Ok, I just tried that link and went to that page where you check your device's eligibility but didn't see any option that allowed you to purchase AppleCare from online. Unless I'm blind or not doing something right, it seems like the only way I can add AppleCare for my new iPhone 7 Plus is to call or get it while I'm at the retail store?

I clicked links but never see an option to buy online. Should have to call, some information must be wrong
