Curious if anyone has done an AC+ claim lately with the series 3 ceramic.. Did you end up with a replacement of the exact same series? Or, did they upgrade you to a new version?

Apple dos not upgrade old stuff for you. Apple wants you to buy new stuff.

Most likely you will get a brand new (or refurb) Series 3 ceramic. Whenever Apple comes out with a new model, they keep the remaining stock (and returns) of the old model for exactly this purpose

this isn't true. They gave me a series 3 Hermes last November when I sent my series 2 Hermes in for repair

they have given me a iPhone 5s after multiple replacements with the 5. lemme know if you want the proof lol

Agreed but those are old devices and they were probably out of stock. I bet Apple has S3 AW in stock. If they did this too much people would catch on and use AC for free upgrades LOL

It’s completely variable on two things, if Apple actually has enough stock of the S3 ceramic, then that’s what they give you likely in return,band/or if they don’t have enough of the S3 ceramic, it’s possible they could upgrade you to a newer model. But like I said, it’s completely variable on stock amounts. There is no sided answer answer here.

How many times did they replace the 5 with a 5 in your multiples? so even your success rate isn't 100%

it does happen, but is by no means frequent.
although the ceramic or Hermes watches are probably more likely to upgrade, since they are a premium item, and might get premium service.

people do win the lottery, doesn't mean you're going to win the next time you play.

Don't expect an upgrade, just expect a replacement, and you might get a happy surprise.
much better than expecting the upgrade and "only" getting a replacement, and being pissed about it.

If it helps provide a data point, I had to replace my S3 Ceramic two months ago due to a faulty crown and got back an S3 Ceramic - though it did take them a week to ship a replacement.
