I had to send my 2-week-old Series 3 Apple Watch back to Apple because the microphone has already stopped working.

Anyway, I shipped it yesterday and they received it today. By this afternoon they had already approved the replacement. Now my Apple Support page doesn't show a tracking number yet, but my FedEx Delivery Manger showed one from Apple with a delivery for tomorrow.

I decided to check the tracking again tonight. It suddenly switched to "shipment cancelled" and "voided" by shipper. I contacted support by chat and all they can tell me is that there's no tracking number assigned to the repair yet. Now obviously this 1LB shipment was my watch, but I guess they can't actually see it. They weren't even interested in checking it, which they probably can't on their end.

Should I be any bit concerned about this? This is the first Apple product I've ever had to have serviced. I'm hoping they just had to redo the shipping information or something minor.

1. Chatting has become the most mediocre and useless option. I mean, you are wasting your time chatting now days. The most negligent and useless service. I have chatted twice with two companies and trust me...

2. Pick up the phone and talk to someone, they will find out for you.

It could have been an error is dispatch, so they cancelled the shipment and will create a new one. The labels include serial number information of the device, so it’s possible it was just a misprint. Give it a day, if nothing happens call Apple and ask for Customer relations, they have direct access to dispatch.

I would actually call Apple directly if you don't see any changes relatively soon, otherwise, contact FedEx as well and see if they can offer any information to you as to what happened.

I received an email in the middle of the night with a new tracking number. Still impressed with the turn around on this.

Thanks for your input everyone!

I am betting that something at apple is the issue.
To date I have had 19 dispatches for someone else.
When apple sets up a dispatch it goes to FEDEX. If the information on the dispatch mismatches anything in the FEDEX system the item is send back to apple. I have been called or have called FEDEX to straighten such shipments out.

Usually its the incorrect phone number.

Rest assured apple is working on a solution.

just curious was the apple device and/or apple care purchased at a Best Buy?

No, I actually bought it from AT&T because they had the model in stock I wanted. I wasn't actually able to purchase the $50 AppleCare+ service because it kept failing during diagnostics. I'm assuming they just replaced in under their normal warranty.
