I did not go to the store when I purchased it. I called Apple and the sales person remotely analyzed my iPhone X then after she approved, the purchase went through.

It can all be done online. No visits or phone calls needed, unless you live in Florida....

Visit this url to check your AppleCare status. You can then get a text message or email sent to you with a link to open on your iPhone to run the built in diagnostic app. After it’s approved, you can then buy AppleCare+ online. I just did this with my new iPhone X.

False. You can also call Apple on the phone and get transferred to the department that sells it.

I live in FL and that’s what I do. Every. Time.
