I didn't buy a new one about a newer version came out. I purchased my MBP last Sunday. The one with the new spec just came out on last Tuesday, when I spend sat and sun at the apple store discussing with the folks there, no one there told me there was a better model coming out with the same in this case $100 cheaper and to wait a couple of days.....trust me, I'm going to be no so happy when I show back there this Saturday!

You do have about 14 days to exchange it...don't be angry, just ask for the new model :)

I did exactly that today...they saw me and said they knew why I was there....they gladly took my mbp and gave me the one that just came out....so got the new spec with the 2.4mhz chip, went from 120g HD to 200g, went from 128mb Video to 256, multi touch pad and backlit led screen. They also refunded me back $113 as the new model was cheaper by that amount...I was in and out of the applestore in 10mins...and that's because I was looking at buying the itouch...:) great service for once! I was more concern that they were going to charge me the 10% restocking fee as the website indicated and so did the sales rep when I initially called in....but they didn't

Especially if you consider that there is a 2 years warranty by law (in EU).

Assume this is only true if you actually buy it in the EU ? I live in the EU full-time but bought my MB in the States... fairly sure I wouldn't get the extra year, but it's worth a post to check
