Applecare using Serial

I want to get apple care on my macbook pro,I bought from a wholesaler and don't have a receipt. Can they find it in there system with my serial number or will i have to get a copy of the receipt.

Receipt is best, but they should be able to find it using your serial number.

I've never needed a receipt before. I just give the serial number and/or my name and they find it.

It goes into a database. You can see how far you are along by entering the SN online.

They track it back to the day they deliver it to your reseller, unless you have your reciept.

I'm assuming that if the computer is registered when it's first launched and setup, they go by that.
