John Lewis offer a Free 2 year guarantee and you can make it 3 years for £70

Is this better or is applecare the way to go?
 
First and most obviously -- the JL warranty can be repaired only at JL. THe Applecare warranty is good at any Apple authorized repair centre in the world.
