Nope, I’ve had the iPhone since the 3GS and only had one break on me. I would rather pay for my phone to get fixed on the rare chance something happens vs giving Apple $200.
Screen Damage (with and without AC+)
$229 vs $279
Other Damage (with and without AC+)
$299 vs $549
No Damage (with and without AC+)
$199 vs $0
I included the $200 you’re paying for AC, so it’s $229 and $299 total.It’s $29 for a screen repair on the X with AC+
And it’s $99 for any other repair, with AC+ for the X.
That seems like a fair way of putting it, but due to the fragile nature of the X, I don’t think it’s unfounded to factor in multiple incidences. It would work out a hell of a lot cheaper with AC+ if you Require a second repair, especially with the rear glas being about as damage-prone as the front and at over £500 a pop with out AC+...I included the $200 you’re paying for AC, so it’s $229 and $299 total.
Never had it for past phones but, I may consider it when I get an X. You can never tell when an accident might happen. I’ve been extremely careful with my phones and have yet to damage one but, you never know when the luck runs out.
I second. AppleCare + is indeed necessary for iPhone X due to the high repair costs, although I am using the best quality case protection such as otterbox and will get Lifeproof nuud when it is released for X.I paid for AppleCare + for my iPhone X, especially with the high cost of repair and using a slim leather Apple case this time.
I didn't have it for my iPhone 6+, broke the screen 3 times and had to pay out of warranty repairs 3 times... Luckily back then fixing the screen was $120 each time. The cost of that OLED repair (or glass back repair) meant i had no choice.I always get AC+ but have never actually needed to use it.
I figure, better to have and not need than to need and not have. And fate would have it that the one time I decide not to bother that's when something will happen.
