I am receiving an AW5 for Christmas .... the person that is giving it to me ordered it from B&H and didn't purchase Applecare.

Is it worth getting? If so, should I contact Apple or B&H?

TIA

I think it’s worth it and have it on my watch. You can go through Apple. They will run a diagnostic and may require proof of purchase. You have 60 days after purchase to get AppleCare.

It’s hard to say if AppleCare on the watch is worth it or not. A lot depends on how hard you are on watches.

That Bering said, if this is your first watch & you’re unsure, it’s probably better to get it and not need it, than to regret not getting it.

I bought it for my first watch (A series 2), but did not pick it up on either of my other two watches (series 3 and Series 5) and all have been fine. But since I wasn’t sure how it would handle my daily activity levels, I’m glad that I bought it, at least the first time around

Get the Apple Care. I have had to send in every Apple Watch I’ve owned at least once. Totally worth it.

Yes, get Apple Care. Your watch is out there on your arm where it's easy to whack it into things.

I think it depends, do the maths. I wouldn’t get it for an aluminium sans cellular, but I would for a stainless steel or titanium watch.
