Hi, my macbook is a month away from being a year old so need to get an applecare pretty soon. I am in Australia at the moment and an applecare over here is around $500, but applecare in korea is going for around $300. So i was thinking about asking my relatives to buy the applecare from korea. One thing i wasn't too sure about is whether i can just ask them to send me the registration number over the email or whether i actually need a cd to activate the applecare. Could anyone help me answer this.

Thanks

The CD just has software to diagnose computer problems. You can download it for free after you register the AppleCare.
