I've seen other posts on Apple Support Boards about being sold bad parts from AppleComponents.com, along with also receiving horrible customer service. Has anyone else had similar experiences?

I bought a video card from Applecomponents.com and eventually was told by my local apple repair shop that the card was bad. AppleComponents won't replace or refund because it is past the 12 weeks guarantee, and they also won't produce a receipt that I can use to give to VISA for extended warranty.

AppleComponents could not produce any receipt showing me that they purchased it new. I'm out $600 because I decided to take a chance on buying a part from AppleComponents.com Who monitors these companies to make sure they are not selling us refurbished or reclaimed hardware? Are there any online Apple parts companies out there that are not scammy?

No one monitors these companies; it's buyer beware. They are not breaking any laws.

I wouldn't trust the "applecomponents" people - their website is so amateur and just plain untrustworthy.

Ignore their claims about warranty and do some research on what the law is.

It sounds like you'll need to get some communication going between Visa, the computer technician and yourself.
