ApplePay on Apple Watch transactions

Hi, I see from using ApplePay that if I pay with my phone I can see a list of recent transactions in the Passbook app. However since the Watch is treated as a separate device I can't see transactions made using my watch. Logically I therefore opened Passbook on my Watch but I can't get it to tell me recent transactions - am I missing something here?!

If I'm not and you can't see recent transactions made by the Watch then what on earth is going on with Apple?! If it's useful to see recent transactions made on the phone it's useful on the Watch too?!

Have you tried the Passbook section in the Watch app on your phone? That is just a wild guess, as I was too lazy to actually use it on my Watch today.
 
I see all of my recent transactions in Passbook on the iPhone. The watch is an accessory to the phone, right now. As the watch becomes more of a stand alone device, you will probably see more functionality.
 
No Chabig, the Watch stores the cards separately and I believe they even generate different numbers so that if, for example, you used your phone to tap in on the Tube and your watch to tap out, it would have 2 incomplete journeys since they're not linked.
 
Interesting. I'll have to take another look at it, but I know for a fact that my iPhone shows purchased made by swiping the physical credit card. I'll have to go try another Apple Pay transaction tonight.

No :apple:Pay info from the :apple:Watch goes onto the iPhone. The :apple:Watch and iPhone are completely segregated and use different random tokens for :apple:Pay. Just look at the last 4 numbers on an iPhone CC and you will see they are different than your :apple:Watch. You even have to setup the :apple:Watch separately (re-enter CC) from the iPhone setup for :apple:Pay.

Yeah you mean the device account number rather than the card number though - as on mine the card numbers are the same on Watch and iPhone (and match the actual card number) but the DAN is different - only 1 digit different however as far as it lets me see.
 
Basically, you won't see the list of recent transactions when you use your watch. You won't see them on the phone, and you won't see them on the watch.

I'd be nice if you *could* see them on the watch - maybe Apple will add this at some point.
 
This seems like a major oversight. A number of people on the forums today have mentioned payments going through on their phone but not registering on the till, and having to show their phone receipt to the shop attendant to prove it.

This has happened to me with the watch. I just scan the watch again. I've never been double-charged for it.

Confirmed. I just paid with the watch and the transaction appeared on my iPhone in the Passbook. The iPhone shows all of my transactions in the paired credit card account. Perhaps you need to have your banking app on the iPhone, which I do (American Express).
 
Doesn't American Express work differently anyways - don't you get push notifications for transactions independently of Apple Pay?

Apple state its bank dependant. Some banks will match them up and show all on the iPhone, some won't. I'm with Nationwide and the don't.

I do get push notifications. I thought we all did. I guess I learned something new.
