I have to wonder if Apple including AirPods Pro 2 in these deals signifies their desire to "clear out inventory" to make room for updated AirPods Pro.

iPad mini does not seem to be eligible. The site says it's eligible, but I just went through the "buy" process and there was no free gift with purchase.

I can live with it. It's a good deal if you happen to need/want the magic keyboard for another mac, which I do personally. The USB-C version has been seen at ~$170 at best. Airpods not so much - there's is always a race to offer the best sales on those - and a lot of people don't even need the ANC.

Looks like the offers in the US are similar to the ones in India last year. But at least Apple is allowing to choose other accessories and not just the Pencil for iPad.

The problem here is that Apple has got more aggressive at selling inventory below RRP through resellers like Amazon and Best Buy, so the student discount, which was pretty great when Apple barely let anything go below RRP, really isn't impressive anymore - free AirPods are a nice touch but I'd imagine that most students who want them, already have them - it'd be better if there was a new generation.
It’s amazing if you want to do custom configurations… as many people do and Amazon and BB etc do not allow.

In 2019 I got my wife a free pair of Beats Studio 3's with my MacBook Air. $300 value.

I suspected the back to school promotion would be smaller this year due to tariffs and I was right.

The High School that I live near just had Graduation like 2 and a half weeks ago. Can we take a pause on "Back to School" sales and instead have like a Summer Breakout sale?
For college students? No. They're making these moves now. Many of them have orientation over the summer.
