Last week, Amazon had some initial launch discounts on a few Nano-Texture models of the Studio Display, but only one of these remains. You can still get the Nano-Texture model with Tilt-Adjustable Stand for $1,849.00, down from $1,899.00. Both displays have an estimated delivery date of March 20 for free shipping.

Additionally, Amazon has the Studio Display XDR (Standard Glass with Tilt- and Height-Adjustable Stand) on sale at $100 off this week. You can get this model for $3,199.00, down from $3,299.00, another new record low price.

oh boy, $100 off!

Apple absolutely sucks for selling 3 configurations for this monitor and charging $400 for height adjustment. Absolute aholes on this one. I pay the Apple tax all the time for overpriced products, and did so for the Studio Display, but this is just insulting.

Well, it is early days yet.

Amazon well get to the $300 off of the new Studio Displays soon enough just like they did on the ones I have. My first two were at list along with the M1 Ultra Mac Studio (which is still in use as my primary computer) and the last two with nano displays had the $300 discount which made all four cost about the same.

So now I am a smarter consumer and will wait for display discounts on offer before even considering if the new units are worth the bother. Unless I also upgrade my M1 Ultra Studio and M4 generation equipment (laptops and Mac minis), I could not use the main feature of the best model screen of 120hz functionality.

Heh, if you keep buying it, stop complaining!

I pay the Apple tax for the iPhone, because there isn't an alternative that runs iOS. I'm just not willing to switch to Android. But for other things, I wait for sales, refurb items, or just buy alternative products.

What does it say when everything Apple launches is immediately discounted?
That the product was immediately overpriced upon its inception.

$100 off is a good start. About $1900 more to go and I might give the XDR some thought….

While a $100 discount is nice on a brand new monitor/product, does not take away from the fact that it is still very expensive. While the display pairs very well with a mini and can be a replacement for 27" iMac, there are other much cheaper displays that work well with the mini.

I would assume they would have sold a lot more if the price wasn't so insane but the bean counters say otherwise.

I dream of the day I retire so I can buy one of these and not have to worry about hooking up both work and home computers to a single display.

Savings that can be reinvested into the monitor stand that articulates. This changes everything. Including viewing angles.

Im trying to decide if i wanna buy one of these later this year. So legit question, what are the other comparable 27inch monitors?
