hello all,

somewhere i heard that if a apple computer is serviced three times within the first year of ownership, then a replacement model would be given on the third repair.

can anyone confirm this? if so, do they give a CURRENT model, or your same model refurbished?

should i 'time' my third repair for when the new MBP's come out?

best,

ted.

I can confirm that this isn't true...I'll be picking up my PowerBook from its third repair tonight when I get off work. It's bullcrap if you ask me....3 repairs is, in my opinion, unacceptable.

And yes, I begged the guy at the genius bar for a replacement, as midterms is not a good time to be without a laptop, and they wouldn't do it. And he "wasn't at liberty to say" how many repairs are needed for a replacement.

Again, it's a bunch of bullcrap. And on the 4th repair (which is probably inevitable considering my Powerbook's track record) I will be raising hell if I don't get a replacement.

Thank god that I live in Norway... Here the law says that after 2 failed repairs, then you can get a new one or get your money back...

Deceit is a evolved trait, humans who do not keep up evolutionary-wise will starve and grow extinct

What does that mean...when I was younger I wanted to be a fireman, but a dodgy kebab made me grow extinct.
