Its amazing how much you have to pay up for more storage in apple products considering how cheap storage has become.

Apple has also dropped storage size upgrade prices significantly. For example, when the original iPhone launched in 2007 the storage size upgrade cost was $25 per GB. Today, it's around 97% less at only 78 cents per GB and that's even without adjusting for inflation.

Has it really been that long? Damn, Apple's cheap. Gotta protect those margins, I guess.

Will 128GB serve as the base storage config for iPads and iPhones for the next 7-8 years too?
Yeah, knowing Apple, 128GB will probably be the new baseline for that amount of time

When I upgraded from my XR to the 15 I have now, I almost was just going to stick with 128, but I ultimately sprang for 256 and it's been more than enough for me (and if I do need anything more than that somehow, I have terabytes of storage with iCloud+ and one of the Apple One bundles)

I was more hinting at the way they structure price points for their phones and other products.

This is good, because my 64 GB iPhone SE has only 9 GB left of storage space. When I have to install a big software update I have to temporarily remove some apps and files to make room for it. A couple years from now when it's time for me to get a new iPhone, a 128 GB one should be fine for me!
