But you can’t really take POV video audio as you go through your day without occupying your hands non-stop.Another product in search of a problem. If only I had a device in which to take pictures and videos to share. Oh wait, what is this thing in my pocket? Oh it’s my iPhone. Other than walking to the shower in the gym, my phone is with me every second of the day.
I am already getting a kick out of picturing people gesticulating in public … snapping fingers, opening & closing fists, wiping the air … “Oh, hey, do I know you?” - “So sorry, I wasn’t waving at you, I was just opening a menu on my glasses …”… Apple appears to be leaning into gesture support, and it's an ideal input method when no screen is available to interact with.
On the cloudI'm pretty sure this will need an iPhone tether somehow. I can't see how they would run inference on device otherwise.
And is there a huge audience for that? I’m sure some people want that, but enough to support an entire product development ecosystem? But you can’t really take POV video audio as you go through your day without occupying your hands non-stop.

While I can see a use for AVP (I personally enjoy VR over AR) Smart Glasses have never made sense to me. It seems we are searching hard for the solution to a post-smartphone era, but why? Phones are small, convenient, feature packed.
I now have to wear reading glasses in certain situations, but I remove them whenever I can. Why would I want a computer perched on my nose?
Yeah, well, according to the rumor, the first version doesn’t even have a display associated with it.This has one huge advantage over the Meta Raybans that Apple get straight out of the gate, for free.
It doesn't have Meta associated with it.
