Really hope this isn’t true as it’s making me lose faith in Apple understanding what makes for a good product. Very few people will want to wear a pendant either as a pin or necklace. Just like very few people wanted to wear heavy ski mask / helmet like goggles in the form of apple vision pro. The design factors are not conducive to comfort style or practicality.

Considering the new version of Siri will be launching to developers next month, and will allow switching the default AI to Claude, this might be the first Claude compatible wearable. In any case, as an Apple developer in AI, I’m all for it.

Wearables are a tricky market - what does this bring to the table would be my first question that a watch or phone with a bigger display cant do better....if it has a camera and then needs to be constantly scanning to actually be of use what are the battery and privacy implications ? As I have said before here the same with glasses - no-one and I mean no-one likes wearing glasses so why keep trying to maker it happen ?

Many of the above comments remind me of:

Steve Jobs iPod introduction (paraphrased): Introducing iPod. A thousand songs in your pocket.

Reaction here by many: "Who asked for a thousand songs in your pocket?"

Little has changed since then (ie... not flexing one's imagination).

(I’m not a Rossmann fan, but I do agree, he sometimes has valid gripes/arguments.)

3. You are a salesperson and deal with hundreds of potential customers. Siri-pendant sees a person at a distance and tells you, “That’s Bob, you last saw him 18 months ago in San Diego at that conference, ask him about the server room installation.” No need to ask, Siri-pendant just noticed that Bob saw you and is headed this way. She knows how forgetful you are with things like this because she has been with you for a few years.
This would be the targeted ad for me. 😂 When it comes to KYC… Well… Actually, in general, I don’t feel it’s necessary to remember (most) people. In other words, I’m often that person:

Sounds like straight from a Black Mirror episode...

"Hey Siri, what am I looking at?"

"It appears you are looking at the inside of a bathroom stall door"

No thank you.

What could this possibly be used for? Only reasonable use case would be for vision impaired persons. Outside of that it’s dumb.
You're walking along the street, "is this a good place to eat?". You're at a party, "what's his name again"? Information on stuff in your surroundings, without you having to hold a phone up and point it. It's for normal human beings who don't walk around with their phone up to their face Instagramming. It saves the future world from having to turn into Gen Zombies.

Regarding Humane’s now defunct AI pin:

"In a world where smartphones dominate our lives, why would consumers pay a premium price for an inferior, redundant device? Consumers don't adopt technology because it's futuristic; they adopt it because it seamlessly improves their daily lives," said Francisco Geronimo, VP of data and analytics for global market intelligence firm IDC. "This was never about a lack of marketing or consumer readiness -- the AI Pin simply didn't solve a real problem."

Does anyone see a reason why the same wouldn’t apply to Apple’s device?
Not really, because it's not a separate device. It's a part of the iPhone that lets you do stuff without having to go through the motion of taking your phone out. It's got the power of the iPhone, but more convenience. Maybe this isn't useful for Gen Zombies who already have their phones glued to their noses. It's for everyone else; normal people who keep their phones in their pockets.

Normal human beings don’t need this.
