But maybe I will be after I actually see them in action.

I’ve owned tiles for years now and they’ve save me so much time and stress , Ive found my wallet that’s dropped into a nearly invisible positions many times (car / sofa / under bed), having the trackers hidden in cars and bikes means theives have to find them before they’re not useful, I think most future Apple products will be locatable without a separate tag.

I guess it also comes down to your personality, if you don’t lose things these aren’t useful, I’ll openly admit to being forgetful or inconsistent on where I leave things, opening the app and finding the item quickly is great, with Apple I expect the experience to be even better.

regarding the AirPods it might be possible to have a chip in the case, not sure if they’re small enough for the actual ear pieces.

I hope it has good range - what I really need it for is to find my car in a parking lot.

Ya, I suppose that might be fine for certain things but I think it's going to be different for such a small device with limited power and range. But it's plausible.

My bluetooth watch battery lasts around a year while transmitting and receiving far more data than a tag would require.

Assuming that the tags relay signal through any iPhone nearby the the range or lost devices would be literally limitless.

I was thinking it could be useful to attach to your drone if you fly drones to locate it if it crashes? I still need convincing tho of their practicality. Right now I am not convinced. But maybe I will be after I actually see them in action.

Most drones already have pretty good GPS mapping, but it would certainly increase the likelihood of finding one if the battery was dead.

Anything expensive and has a high likelihood of being stolen would be ideal use cases I guess e.g. Cars, Bikes, Bags, Luggage, TV's, Pets.

I'm guessing this thing is going to be very small, the current cheapest el-cheapo trackers aren't much bigger than a pets name tag so maybe it'll work for wallets, keys, phone etc...

It'll be interesting to see.
