Apple today updated its website for investors to note that its 2018 Annual Meeting of the shareholders will take place at the Steve Jobs Theater in Apple Park on February 13, 2018.

The record date for the meeting is December 15, 2017, and Apple plans to publish additional details about the upcoming meeting in the near future when the proxy statement is filed.

Apple says it expects more shareholders to want to attend than there are seats available, and so advance registration is required using a unique control number that will be issued following the filing of the proxy statement.
Shareholders can register to attend the meeting at Proxyvote.com starting at 8:00 a.m. Pacific Time on January 22, 2018. Apple plans to accept registrations on a first-come, first-served basis.

Apple earlier this month asked the SEC for permission to skip shareholder proposals involving issues like greenhouse gas emissions, climate change, and human rights. Apple says these topics do not need to be addressed as they are areas that it "routinely reviews" and are not representative of "significant policy issues" requiring a shareholder vote.

Crank dividends up by 20% this year, rather than the traditional 10%. Pretty please?

Says the protectionist trying to increase and protect their own coffers.

The CHOAM collective is not in full affect here on Earth, but the spice will flo!

    That would be great!

Their dividend yield is far too low for the value of the company and for investors. We should be at $1.20US.

Heck Canadian banks have .90CAN and their market cap pales by comparison to Apple.

Cheaper than WWDC tickets. And a chance to get into Apple Park.

I've never made the meeting before, but I am definitely considering going this year for my 20th anniversary as an Apple shareholder, and also for the opportunity to be in the Steve Jobs Theater at Apple Park.

Dividends have nothing to do with market cap. They are expressed as a yield percentage of the current share price (as of today, 1.43%).

I really hope someone there grills them on the following:

Why they immorally (and in some cases ILLEGALLY) dodge their taxes
Why their CEO likes to talk tough on Civil Issues only when it suits him
Why they practice planned obsolescence like it's going out of style
Why they've screwed their pro customers over for years
Why they've degraded their software so drastically over the years

Is this for common stock cause that’s not correct (quarterly dividend is less than $1US so it’s less than 1.43% of the share price. Maybe you have preferred stock which has a higher dividend I’m unaware of?

Correction: I do see the 1.43% over at Bloomberg for the dividend in %
    https://www.bloomberg.com/quote/AAPL:US
Yet looking at Yahoo earlier today the actual price per quarter is a lot less in dollar amount so I may have something wrong. Annual dividend must be representative in percentage vs quarterly.

The idea of going to one of these meetings just sounds so boring...

All the relevant investor data is going to be published in their quarterly filings, so there’s no practical reason to be there. Pleasure or entertainment wise, you get to sit in a theater named after Jobs? Meh.

I guess if you have questions to ask that makes sense. But... well, I’m not an active investor so I have no questions to ask. I’ve bought some shares and I’m just going to sit on them. No plans to buy more or sell what I have.

Yields are typically expressed in terms of % returned annually.

If we say that the yield on a 3-month U.S. Treasury Bill is 1.4%, we mean that's the annualized rate of return (based on the current market price or on the auction price, depending on the context) rather than what it returns after 3 months.

Might have been answered already, but the yield is expressed annually but paid quarterly.

Well true enough that these meetings aren't exactly food for the soul, which is why I've never made the 5-6 hour drive in 20 years of being a stockholder. This year is a bit different in that it gets you onto the new campus, assuming you draw the right number.

That would require investing time to prioritize fighting for these “critical” issues. It’s much easier to complain on Internet forums.

    2. We have will be 3 month old baby with us, can we stroll him in as well?
    3. No to either above question, will my wife and baby be able to have a visitor pass to check our anything campus related? Thank you!!

I signed up to attend this meeting, flying in from Calgary, for the sole reason I want to see the new campus and Steve Jobs Theatre. Years ago I attended a course at the Loop and managed to get thrown out of the cafeteria (long story, not remotely interesting) and missed the chance to meet Steve Jobs (which the rest of the class did). Looking forward to seeing the new space.
