Apple's 2025 shareholders meeting will be held on Tuesday, February 25 at 8:00 a.m. Pacific Time, according to an SEC filing that was released today.

Apple shareholders of record as of January 2, 2025 can attend, vote, and submit questions during the meeting by logging in to Apple's virtual meeting website 15 minutes before it kicks off. A control number included in the Notice of Internet Availability of Proxy Materials that's provided to shareholders is required to join.

At the meeting, shareholders will vote to re-elect the Board of Directors, approve executive compensation, and ratify Ernst & Young LLP as Apple's public accounting firm. There will also be votes on shareholder proposals.

Most of Apple's shareholder meetings are not of interest to the public. Tim Cook and other executives share little about Apple's future plans at these meetings, but sometimes there are a few interesting tidbits. Last year, for example, Tim Cook spoke about the potential of artificial intelligence before Apple Intelligence features were highlighted in June 2024.

When is Apple going to meet in person for all of their Shareholders and Developer meetings? I'm getting tired of all these virtual meetings.

Same — I really enjoyed the in-person shareholder meetings in the SJT.

In-person events cost money. Cheaper to do virtual meetings and pre-recorded presentations. Apple will tell you it's better for the environment too as there are less people traveling to the events.

Yay! Hope my stock goes up! 📈
Your stock will go up when Timmy announces his usual multibillion stock buyback. It’s an artificial measure to satisfy the stockholders and makes Timmy popular amongst them.

I hope in the questioning after the announcement some reporters will ask Timmy how he will handle future hard- and software. Because Apple is falling behind on all fronts and the future doesn’t look bright for Apple.

You can always go to Windows then if you don't like Apple. 🤷‍♂️

I’m waiting till the new EU rules to come in handy that Apple is forced to make it easier to switch 😊
You can't buy a computer you like... until your band of governments fixes some obscure law for you? bizarre & helpless.

You don’t understand. Maybe you haven’t tried to switch to another brand. Apple is locking you in with their software. It’s hard to port all your existing data to new devices. It’s criminal behavior and that’s why the EU is stepping in 😊

If it were “criminal” even the EU were to take other steps. Calling it that way is just plain nonsense

I started with TRS-80, then Atari 400, then Atari ST, then Amiga, then 486dx PCs, then SGIs, then Pentium PCs, then Macs. What 'data' can you not port to new devices? Mac is basically a certified Unix Operating System that complies with the Single Unix Specification since Leopard (macOS 10.5). Sounds like your problem is user based, not system & definitely not government based.

It's your data. just move it to an operating system on a computer that you like.

I wanted to like this twice but I can’t.

Amen.

Financial engineering is all they do. They forgot about software engineering long ago. The whole ecosystem is an absolute disaster.
CarPlay not working and stuttering, AirPods struggling to connect if connected to the car’s Bluetooth, audio switching between AirPods and car randomly and you can’t redirect it to AirPods unless you disconnect the car radio, continuity/handoff issues on Mac, user account switching often glitches and you must reboot otherwise you can’t login anymore, Siri is simply pathetic and getting worse, you tell to turn off a device in your home after 30 minutes and it replies you can only set automations one minute out. HomePods not recognizing voices, the list is so endless.
I’m seriously thinking about buying and google pixel this year and this comes from a hardcore long time Apple ultras.

Tim Cook is, by far, the best CEO for shareholders. His goal is maximizing profits by giving customers less value (in terms of user-friendly functionality) for their money. In other words, Cook's goal is eliminating Steve Jobs's goal, which was to give customers more value (in terms of user-friendly functionality) for their money.

I understand why shareholders support Cook. I understand that some customers are also shareholders, and thus support Cook. But I find it strange that so many customers (such as many on this forum) who are not shareholders, so fervently support Cook. They are willfully acting against their own best interests.

Ever tried going back to another system from a Mac? I know osx is just a skin build on Unix (Darwin). But once you go Mac, it’s hard to get your data back 😉

I remember attending the meeting there in 2018.
Me too. I attended in '18, '19, and '20. It was a neat opportunity to attend, be on the campus, and meet other people. I can see them staying with the virtual format, but I hope it returns to in-person.

Shareholders should fire Tim and the Board.
Dear Board Members,
When Steve Jobs died 14 years ago, we were selling computers, phones and tablets.
Fourteen years later, we are now selling computers, phones, tablets and watches. Adding watches to our portfolio is a remarkable technical feat which few could have imagined us accomplishing in fourteen short years.

I don't think Apple management has done well. They haven't done poorly; the company executes phenomenally well. But Steve Jobs brought the Mac to market, and OS-X and iPhone. Tim Cook has made no gambles at all, even though he can easily afford a dozen. He canceled the Car after burning through a billion dollars, because his subordinates couldn't stop arguing. That is abysmal management on his part. He's running the world's largest company and it is profitable, but without innovation, the company will shrink and fail. That's what happened to Intel; they were the kings and now they are shrinking.

I feel like I'm doing customer service at Apple again. What data are you having such a hard time with?

I feel like having to deal with an Apple representative again. Big ego and superior attitude 😅. I know how to retrieve my data from iPhone and Mac. It’s time consuming and Apple doesn’t make it easy for you. Together with all the music and movies you’ve bought through out the years. It’s an expensive, time consuming operation.
