Back to school event in October? How does that make sense. They should at least disclose the new products in September even if they’re not ready to ship.
That’s lost sales cause who is going to go out and buy something that’s already outdated for full price? These promos are just for clearing out stock

As long as they are comfortable paying a much higher price, otherwise they will be waiting until next year for an M2 at similar prices to the M1
He’s an artist so the commission he’s making off a painting will more than pay for it. The lack of other types of ports was a concern for him, so hopefully, Apple does return some of the classic ports.

Would be funny to see people freaking out here if there was no October event and Apple just presented it all tomorrow.

Doubt it, but would be entertaining.
When they had live in person events, yes, they would just cram everything into one day since it cost a lot of money to setup the stage, etc. But for virtual events like we have mow, Apple can just time it whenever they want and space the products out to maximize the 4th quarter news cycle.

I was hoping to snag some AirPods 3's with a 14" MacBook Pro but I guess that was being a little too optimistic. The battery life on my 1st gen AirPods is pretty poor now.

Ugh can’t come soon enough!! I WANT/NEED! That 16inch MBP!!! Done with intel and want to get rid of my 16inch MBP 2019!!

Hope so.

If they can deliver my new iMac 27'-31'-end oct - mid nov, it'll be great 😁
Too optimistic. Per MacRumors:
Apple had previously paused work on a larger Apple silicon ‌iMac‌ to develop the 24-inch ‌iMac‌, released this April. Due to that pause, the larger ‌iMac‌ is not expected to be released until early next year, so don't be on the lookout for any significant ‌iMac‌ product releases during the "California streaming" ‌Apple event‌.
November might bring us the next Apple Silicon based 14"/16" MBP's and a more powerful Mac mini. But not something like large iMac that lots are waiting for. :)

I certainly hope it’s an early-mid October event, waiting until the end of the month (when they’ve traditionally done October events) is going to be a real drag otherwise 🎃

I still hope, not expecting anything. I believe it when I see it.
Most definitely don’t expect it next week. Just some iPhones, watches & maybe hints of what will come in later events. I wouldn’t be surprised if they release various Mac’s together later this year.

I have consulted an uncle who is living in a retirement village. Most of what I heard him say over the years was correct, so his reliability score would be among the most trusted Apple leakers. Barry believes that a revised MacBook Pro 16 will be released during one of the 4 annual quarters. It will be offered in 5 exciting colours including Vermilion, Aureolin, Celadon and Glaucous. It will also feature a floppy diskette drive, a monochrome 1 k camera and a 10% Apple Care voucher. Of course, nothing written in stone and only time will tell.

I still don’t see why there would be an M1X at all, unless they have supply constraints (maybe!) with the A15/M2 cores and want to maximize how many iPhones rather than Macs they can produce.

Other than supply constraints, surely this late in the game, with the A15/M2 core being announced today, they’ll go straight to M2X in October.

When Apple announced the touchbar Macbook Pros in 2016, the 13'' without the touchbar was available immediately. But it too 2/3 weeks before the touchbar models would ship.

Hopefully they're all available on day one. I am in dire need to upgrade from my mid-2015 15''!
