Previously my sources had indicated Apple may integrate Touch ID into an enlarged power button as a backup, but it appears Apple is now prepared to take a much bigger gamble.

As leaked in its own software, Apple will instead move all iPhone 8 security to ‘Face ID’ - a new facial recognition that will hopefully work better than Samsung’s erratic implementation in the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus which struggles in bright sunlight, low light and when wearing glasses/sunglasses.

Misleading title on Forbes' part. The iPhone 8 has not been "cancelled." Rather click-baitish.
Agreed! [Forbes/BGR/iClarified] Creates These titles to gain more clicks and gather attention. There is no doubt touch id will not be embedded into the display of iPhone 8. Face-ID will be primary source of security.

In fairness though, some of the threads you have created, have also included renders or links from BGR, which you are certainly entitled to do. Some of these websites care more about having you click on something that's completely unbelievable. Macrumors doesn't report everything based off the internet either. It really comes down to what someone wants to believe is reality.

I wish it was easy to dig up threads when it was first announced TouchID might be a thing. People were going crazy saying how it's slow and not secure and they don't want it. Now years later we are sad to see it go. The same will happen to FaceID until it's successor comes along.
