Apple's annual four-day Black Friday through Cyber Monday shopping event has begun in Australia and New Zealand, with customers able to receive a free Apple gift card with the purchase of select products through November 29.

The promotion is available on Apple's online store, in the Apple Store app, and at Apple Store locations in Australia. As usual, refurbished products are not eligible for a gift card, and the offer cannot be combined with educational pricing.

Apple's four-day shopping event will also be available in the United States, Canada, UK, and select other countries starting on Black Friday.

Black Friday is one of the few occasions per year that Apple offers deals on its products, but better deals are often available through resellers like Amazon, so make sure to check out our Black Friday roundup and best Thanksgiving Day deals for the latest discounts on the iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, AirPods, accessories, and more.

Apple's gift card values in Australia are as follows:
  • A$70 for iPhone 12, iPhone 12 mini, and iPhone SE
  • A$35 for second-generation or third-generation AirPods
  • A$70 for AirPods Pro
  • A$105 for AirPods Max
  • A$70 for Apple Watch SE and Apple Watch Series 3
  • A$140 for 11-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pro
  • A$140 for MacBook Air, 13-inch MacBook Pro, and Mac mini
  • A$280 for 27-inch iMac
  • A$70 for Apple TV 4K and Apple TV HD
  • A$70 for Magic Keyboard for iPad Pro and iPad Air
  • A$35 for second-generation Apple Pencil, Smart Keyboard Folio, MagSafe Duo Charger, and four pack of AirTags
  • A$35 for Beats Flex and Beats Studio Buds
  • A$70 for Powerbeats Pro, Solo3 Wireless, and Studio3 Wireless
As usual, many of Apple's latest products are excluded from the offer, such as iPhone 13 and Apple Watch Series 7 models.

Apple gift cards are now all-in-one and can be used towards the purchase of products, subscription-based services like Apple Music and Apple TV+, App Store apps, iTunes Store content like TV shows and movies, iCloud+ storage, and more.

A serious question. I'm planning to get a couple of things and I'd like to know how this works. Should I put everything in an Apple Store bag and then at one minute past midnight tonight click 'buy', or would the sale items have different SKUs and need to be added to the bag after midnight?

For those interested, I'm planning on getting an 11" iPad Pro and a 16" Apple Silicon MBP. I've tossed around getting a 12.9" iPad instead of the MBP but at the end of the day the MBP is more useful as it runs full versions of the desktop apps I'm using. However I must confess I keep going back and forth on it. :)

The fine print says you have to use Apple’s Financing (monthly installments or Apple Card) to get the deal. It seems you can’t buy whatever outright to get the gift card.

No it doesn't. You can pay however you want but if you plan to use the Apple Card Monthly Installments then it states the following:

"Customers selecting Apple Card Monthly Installments (“ACMI”) as payment option at checkout or carrier financing shall receive a discount equal to the value of the eligible Special Offer Apple Gift Card off the price of the Special Offer Apple Gift Card and, for ACMI, will result in one ACMI installment at 0% APR for the full price eligible product."

Here in New Zealand, the Apple Store went down at about 11.30pm on Thursday night. It came back up at some point during the night with the offers, so you're not able to order until then.

I bought a MacBook Air and a Mac mini. When you buy, the gift cards are automatically added to your cart at the same time as the products you're buying.

Edited to add - the Store didn't come back up at midnight. I don't know what time it opened, but it was definitely after 12.30am.

The Apple Store has been down in the UK for a number of hours now and it’s only 9.30pm

Huh. Skimming the list it looks like practically everything they make except the 16” MacBook Pro, and the iPhone 13’s. Sigh.
Skimming the list makes me wonder WHY the iMac M1 is featured as having the highest amount, are these not selling well or is there too much stock that over estimated the market?

How much are you being offered for the M1 iMac? In my country, it's excluded - only the 27" Intel iMac is included in the offer.

Really trying hard to get rid of those last Intel 27 inches.
The 2020 5K Macs are great machines with decent i7 and i9 CPUs. Graphics aren’t the greatest except for the 5700 XT, but you can upgrade it with an eGPU like 6800 or 6900 Radeons.

I just got off a call with Apple Support. Ironically because of the way they have packaged the gift cards on the Apple Online Store, you are unable to pay for the purchase using Apple Pay. o_O

Apparently some “customers” are taking advantage of unadvertised 100% discounts at the Apple store in San Francisco…

As if Apple will allow them to succeed and with all the tracking tech built in, isn't Apple one of the dumbest companies to target? Thieves should maybe try a second hand bookstore where no ones really cares or has the resources to hunt them down.

Event started in UAE. I purchased a iPhone 12 and got the gift card but wait… I was charged for the gift card too. Why? I’m confused. The purchase page mentions -200AED “savings” but in T&C fine print it says the gift card is a promotional product and not a gift. So does it mean Apple bundled a gift card and charged me for it?! What sort of a deal is this! Doesn’t menation anywhere that the AED200 that was charged for the gift card would be refunded back either. So I got fully charged for the iPhone and a gift card. I can’t understand the benefit to the customer.

They charge you for the gift card, but the value of the gift card is deducted from the cost of the product that you're purchasing.

For example, if you're buying something for $1,000 with a $200 gift card, you get charged $200 for the gift card plus $1,000-$200=$800 for the product. The end result is you pay full price for the product but get the gift card for free.
