In the past I have noticed apples sales have been very low, Maybe like 20 or 30 dollars off. I think this sale it going to be around the same as all the others. There might be a slight chance it may be a good sale, but it is an online only sale so you do have to pay shipping.
So with shipping added on I don't think you will be getting a very good deal and will just have to wait longer. I suggest going into the store and just purchasing one there, so you can actually see what you are buying

Perhaps a few facts you didn't know.

The savings on computers have traditionally been about $100 off.

The sale is not online only.

    Apple ships free.

There are at least 5 other Black Friday threads, probably more.

    Go away perv. :D

    DJ Roid,

Thanks for the hot news. I had no idea that Apple was going to have a Black Friday sale. Somehow, I must have forgotten after reading the other 14 threads.

The black friday deal certainly did not suck if you were in the market for an Imac, so I don't quite get the point, it would have been quite irrational to expect a huge discount on anything else (say a Mini).

How did it suck? It was no better or worse than any year before. You should be lucky they chose to have a sale.

macs are expensive enough so 100 dollars off of a 1400 dollar computer is still very expensive for the average consumer

And you get what you pay for...

If Macs are too expensive for you, then I would suggest buying something else that's more in your price range.

I saved $120 off on Black Friday. I was able to combine my Apple EPP discount from my company with the Black Friday sale. It was more savings than the educational discount.

My i5 cost me $1879 and it is already shipped and in the US making its way to me. Hopefully by Friday.

I ordered mine, and said I was a student, and I got more off than the Black Friday deal. I took my chance being randomly checked, which I didn't.

Between the software, and the computer, I saved myself almost $300!

I was on Apple's site on Black Friday for all of 5 mins. I sighed, then came back to MacRumors. Come on Apple! Show us some love!

It's a shame that people like you abuse Apple's generosity.

Give me a break. It's not "abuse" to jack up prices almost 50%?

Besides, I have a student in the family, my son. So, I'm not totally abusing anything.

If my son will use the computer for his editing projects at school, what's the problem? He doesn't have a credit card at 15.
