For some reason this framing makes me think of when folks on FB Marketplace lowball and are like:

As if cash is something I want, over Venmo.

Always cracks me up.
It feels like a tactic pulled out of garage sale haggling of the 1980s & 1990s.

If I'm in a humorous mood, sometimes I say things like:
