In the words of Lando, "I don't like it, I don't agree with it, but I accept it.". I'm sure Apple feels the same way, and it seems like they've been as transparent about what is happening as they could be.

Watching Apple's pathetic pandering to China over the last couple of years has been fascinating and a little sad to watch.

If you're going to be pandering, China is the place to do it. All that lovely bamboo, nom nom nom... :D

This seriously undercuts Apple’s stated commitment to privacy and data protection. They’re basically admitting “We’re committed to privacy until there’s too much money at stake.”

Apple - we are committed to your privacy, unless you live in China or any other country where the government can shut us down completely, because money.

Apple has two choices here. Either do business or leave China. Of course Apple will choose the former one as China is a very lucrative and big market. Anyway Chinese govt is watching all of it's citizens via apps and services people use. The govt. has has access to the data of all biggest companies in China. They censor and track everything. And biggest thing is Chinese people don't care anything about these because they know that they cannot do anything.
