Don’t see how, they are the best cases you can buy for a great price

Every case I’ve ever bought from them has had jagged seems, non functioning buttons. So I’ve returned or thrown them away and never even look at their stuff anymore. But that’s what make the world go round.

I bought a Spigen case once, and it made me question how they got so many people to rave about them on MacRumors.

This exactly. I’ve found more true than not if people on here love something I can usually stay clear of it. And on the other side if they tend to dislike something I’m usually happy with it. . So I just use the reviews on here in reverse.

Is it just me??? I can't use clear cases because of the dust particles I see getting in the case, especially with a black phone. I'd have to have a white phone for the clear case to kinda work, and even then, when I did have a white 6s+, the dust particles getting in the phone over time (I put my phone in my back pocket) drove me nuts. Couldn't do a clear case.

From what I’ve read so far from people who have it already. It doesn’t happen on the Apple clear case as it’s a nice snug fit. Mine comes tomorrow. Despite what the OP says. Theirs is the first negative thing I’ve read.

Tried it on at apple store

It sure is clear on the back and no branding ... but i hate the feel, hard to get off, the buttons are very stiff , Bulkier than I’d like.

I wouldnt even be happy with it for $10, honestly. Not hyperbole.

Cannot believe apple released it like that

Also cannot believe Gruber talked it up. What an embarrassment!

It’s now clear ( to me ) why it was delayed; apple didn’t think they could pawn it off as apple quality, then sales were down on their products and they wanted a lazy cash grab top off, so they put it out

Received mine today. Excellent case for the XR perfect fit, nice tactile buttons and perfectly clear with a nice snug fit to keep out dust also adds virtually no bulk.
Well worth the cost. $35 with my EPP.

I only tested one but the buttons were the hardest I’ve had to mash a case in , in a longgg time

It’s easily the best clear case I’ve put my hands on. Tight, no moulding lines. I put a couple on in the store and got the “watermark” issue on my blue Xr, however.

All truly clear cases are fingerprint magnets so that complaint is a nonstarter for me. Couldn’t justify the price to put up with the oil slick effect on the back, though.

While I think a lot of the XR grief on this board is unwarranted I completely agree with you here. I had a very similar experience with that thing the first day it showed up at the store. My biggest beef is how stiff it is. And yes, taking the darn thing off was the deal breaker. It shouldn’t be that stiff compared to the silicon case on my 8+. That material will probably not stretch out or loosen up. I like to go caseless half the time so this would aggravate the crap out of me. Ultimately that stiffness added a cheapness factor to it but I know others feel differently, I get it.

And that leads to your final point. I also thought the same thing too. It was delayed because it was not what they really wanted but had no choice at this point in the game. Did they ever release a phone without a case of their own?

This was definitely rushed. Gruber did mention it was a very quick review but it didn’t take me that long to say “no thanks”. Like a minute.

Yes, forgot to mention that, my XR is blue and also got that watermark issue on the back. Don’t know if that’s common in clear cases but it certainly isn’t good-looking. Apparently Apple didn’t care to address that. Can’t believe there are people who think this is a good case.

Every single review I've read and watched regarding this case agree with you on the buttons. The only place I've read claiming the buttons are nice is from some of the users on this forum. I'm wondering if the people that like these buttons don't know what a case with tactile buttons feels like or if they're trying to justify their purchase. I'm not calling anyone out. I'd be interested to see what cases they've previously used and what their standards are.

I guess the buttons are "nice" if you like stiff buttons?

Maybe for $40 Apple should have included metal (chamfered-edge) buttons on the clear case like they did on previous leather cases.

Disappointing it seems, so it’s alot stiffer than Apple silicone cases?

Who decided not to release silicone and leather cases for the XR? Please fire him.

That's what she said.

(some lady, possibly)

I really can’t think of a more overpriced and poorly done apple accessory in recent history (of course in my opinion) ... I’m completely stumped

Even the $99 iPhone folio case can’t beat it / leather sleeves for MacBook and iPads / $79 smart folio case

I agree that it is horribly overpriced but I’m not sure if it’s the most poorly done accessory. Didn’t the early folio cases interfere with the proper function of the phones? That seems far more egregious than stiff buttons and a watermark/oil slick effect.

Oh that’s true forgot about reading about that

I don't use normally use cases.

My first "smartphone" was some kind of Eris (no one made a case for), and my second phone was Incredible (with a replaceable battery that had to be replaced every 6 months, but it was red inside).

Then i got an iPhone 4s because Verizon. Brain thinks "feels nice. No breaky breaky me hope."

Me after 2 years: "No breaky breaky. Still feels nice. Work too." (I know it's a stretch, but a did string together 3 thoughts).

2 years later: iPhone 5s with an aluminum back (yuck). Brain thinks "scratchy scratchy." Me: "probably, so let's slap a case on it."

iPhone 6 lather rinse repeat.

iPhone X: brain "feels nice like iPhone 4s"

Me: stupid brain.

One year later my iPhone X is prefect, sans (according to some french girl (whom my brain says is lying) that says it mean the end of the century) case.
