Whatever they have from 2008 is probably about as useful for accessing current iPhones as iTunes 8 is.

We've upgrade it over the years just as the iOS and iTunes software has been upgraded too. And it's even better today. Also accesses encrypted backups.

I'm skeptical about claims that the FBI already has the tools they need to access all the data on the phone at the center of this case. Can you give a credible source?
 
I wouldn't mind if the gvt. wasn't overtly and covertly aiding, abetting, funding and arming terrorists and hell bent on dissolving our national borders AND releasing enemy combatants back to the battlefield. The hypocrisy is unacceptable. Pick a side...Americans are tired of being betrayed by their own government. Given all this....the claim that this is really needed to avoid terrorism is a farse....its about total dissolution of privacy rights.
