and how wearables combined with intuitive AI functionality could replace traditional smartphones.
I love my Apple Watch, but I don't think there's any wearable that could replace the feeling of just taking out your phone for a good old-fashioned doomscrolling session on Twitter 😎

I predict Apple as a company will fall in less than 10 years. The iPhone and the Hardware is so deep in their DNA that they just won’t be able to adapt to the revolution that is coming that is AI “human interface”. They will share same fate with Nokia. AI for Apple will be same as smartphones were for Nokia. It’s over.
Short of a chip implant, you're still going to need some form of hardware to interface with AI

How depressing. I don't want to live in a world where so-called AI runs my life for me and tries to think for me. I look at smart phones and other computers as tools, communicators and entertainment devices, not replacements for my own brain. It is just as well I am in my 60's, as i would rather be dead than live in the type of distopian world that Eddie Cue envisions.

What's all this emphasis put towards AI. Then because AI is improving so fast, within next 10 years I may not need a phone, car, house or spouse. AI will replace all or them 😇

By human interface you mean like… chip implants and similar stuff? But, who is gonna do that? Half of the planet decided not to vaccinate from 2019 flu, do you think same people will be eager to “install latest update” into their brains to be always connected to the Internet? I really, really doubt it. If it will happen I guess we will have something worse than zombies, imagine a person scrolling Instagram… in their head, with no device. Uncanny af to say the least

Replacing it how? You still need a piece of hardware to view AI results (whether text or audio). I highly doubt people are going to be replacing their phones with silly looking glasses.
If by 2035 they finally make Siri intelligent, maybe 0.3 nanometer chips inside newest AirPods will be able to handle voice interaction😄

Sounds weird but I guess it is where it is moving

But you still need screen to see all your data. I can trust AI to enter all for me but I STILL want to look if all is correct. iPhone was sucessfull as it also replaced notepad. People need these visual clues and ability to see things entered. That is why all these AI pins were and will be failure.

I swear people touting AI's use never actually used it. Everyone knows about Apples AI but look how utterly **** Gemini is. People tout it as this amazing AI yet it can't get anything right. Googles search results use it and they're wrong nearly 100% of the time.
This. I don’t understand why so many people downvoting you, Gemini is indeed the worst AI model. It is a shame for Google to actually call it “AI assistant”, it is literally a simple summarizer.

I even noticed Gemini often fails to include fresh info, news and other stuff. It also falls short when it comes to analysis. But what it actually can do is constantly argue with user! I dislike when AI models constantly agree with user and basically “echo chamber” even the silliest ideas, but I also dislike when model tries to tell you that you are wrong while you aren’t

With siri being released 14 years ago and seeing the pace of AI integration I really don’t know what he is taking about

I do not see this honestly. I do not plan to wear glasses that interrupt my life with a display constantly available and in my face. I do not desire constantly knowing when things happen, that is why I turn off all notifications on my phone with the exception of SMS/RCS/iMessage and the phone app. It is nice having a piece of hardware that I use when I want and then I put away. I mainly read news and ebooks on my phone, I do not see how AI will improve that (it mainly is making news worse honestly because AI writing is awful despite how proud these companies are of it). Granted, in a capitalist country like where I live (USA), if all of the ambitions of AI come true, most of us will not be able to afford devices, let alone housing or food. It isn't like in the USA if all of our occupations go away there will be any safety net to ensure that life is decent, much less interesting or rewarding.

I never use google or duckduck anymore but do all queries with Perplexity on all my Apple devices

its first VR headset hasn't sold well
What does “well” mean for a gen 1 $3500 product and platform? Apple knew they couldn’t manufacture more than 600k units (generous estimate reported). Estimates are they have sold ~420k. Does “well” mean 10s of millions? If so, no one at Apple expected that outcome.

Nobody will afford an iPhone 10 years from now if nothing is done about it eroding the jobs based economy. I worry about this every single day. Sure it will help productivity - for now. But unlike the advent of the cell phone or the internet, this AI does more than just provide a service, it replaces you.
I worry about that about as much as I would worry about a combine replacing people wielding sickles.
