I did a test copying the HTML code from an apple E-mail into a Thunderbird E-mail but when I receive it it show 34 attachments...instead of 0 like iTMS newsletters ...

I had a similar problem using Outlook on the PC. Despite the images being on our web server, outlook embedded them in the email (as attachments).
Try MailPictures, as it extends the function of Apple Mail, which was what you said you wanted to use initially. You will still need to create the code elsewhere.
