Do people really get excited over these pathetic discounts? This whole black friday thing is just another weird marketing thing, the only way of saving money is NOT buying. If you buy because of a couple of pounds off, you don't actually want or need it, you are just caught in some hype. I would have bought a new Mac Mini even at full price, but unfortunately there is no updated Mac Mini. I will cope without a black friday just fine....

I've put off buying my a new top-spec i7 iMac for a couple of weeks. Why? Because I was waiting for today. £81 is still £81 savings and I'm pleased with that. Why are some people moaning?

If anyone wants a slightly cheaper case, John Lewis (UK) are selling them with 20% off (Apple and 3rd party).

£44 for the mini case is still bad, but less bad that £55!

Looks like JL are price matching all the apple discounts. Colleague's father bought his first mac today, picked it up by lunch. Their deliver to a store or waitrose the next day is excellent.
He'd been waiting to buy for a few weeks so whilst it may be considered a meagre discount, it's better than if he's bought it last and a two year JL warranty included to boot!

And Thanksgiving has something to do with harvesting crops. And crops only grow inside of the US borders, so naturally europeans never had a reason to thank god for the harvest. Also european children don't like candy, that's why we don't have Halloween over here either.

Even in the unlikely event of European children rejecting sweets some of us would probably still celebrate Halloween since it originated in Ireland.
