I am curious if Apple is going to use IOS or iPadOS and how it's going to handle having apps look gorgeous and usable no matter how you use the app, whether unfolded, turned sideways, or folded. I am liking the new iPadOS windowing features so it will be interesting if that gets brought over to the IOS. I am curious what Apple's thoughts are for how we use the devices. I remember the iPad initially came with no calculator or mouse support. I also remember how native IOS apps that weren't converted to iPad absolutely sucked. I think Instagram is still using the ugly IOS screen for the iPad.
Samsung struggled with the apps initially not expanding correctly or in the right orientation, but hopefully Apple either planned for this years ago or they have plans so developers don't have to do anything with their apps or we have to go in to settings for each individual app.
I think if Apple nails the app layout, they ought to have an app that when connected to an external display, that it creates a "desktop" environment. Perhaps Apple ought to have a docking station that allows the phone to stand up, unfolded - and connect external devices. Much better than that Sling Pouch that they invented!
Anybody have any thoughts on this?
