all i know is since light, and deep touch could "in theory" trigger anything in any application, how would be this convenient ?

Confusing, more like it...

Just image u have 12 Apple apps, each one pulling up different things when u soft, or hard press.

Add to that, the "accidental" tapping would only just aggravate u even more.

Apple better give us a way of not using this "useful" feature... otherwise is will be one very good reason never to upgrade, since i believe Apple it also going to do this for future iOS devices too.

Still waiting on touchscreen for the MacBook

The problem with touch screens on laptops is that it is hard to reach due to the keyboard being in front of the screen. However if apple would make the MacBook air keyboard flip back( I mentioned MacBook air because it is thin enough ) you could use it as a tablet and have a touch screen.

But other than that it is a little impractical.

This is amazing. I've been hoping for a haptic feedback screen for a while but this is what apple is good at. they take an already existing technology (haptics) and use a different approach to revolutionize the way the technology is implemented.

I can't wait for this to come to the Magic Trackpad. I've hated the current trackpad. and a redesigned keyboard + trackpad combo perhaps. ;)

All Apple have to do now is design a circuit which detects you typing profanity, and makes the MacBook chassis become live at 5,000 volts :D

Seriously, a LOT of people need that.

How will the Force Touch trackpad operate when using Mavericks?

We reimage our computers back to 10.9.5 in our school, I'm wondering how the trackpad will work without Yosemite, assuming the specific functions only work with 10.10

Simple. Change policy and actually use the later OSes.
