Someday, I would love to see an Apple store with that few people in it! The ones in the GTA are always jam-packed.

It took me over 20 minutes to fight my way from the front door to the Genius desk at our local Apple store yesterday. I thought we were supposed to be in a recession.

there is without a doubt a few or one giant monitor behind those black panels. Here are two pics I took just before getting on the train. One of the panels is moving and you can see behind.. Where there is a giant white display and what looks like a train schedule type of video playing.. Here are the pics. I tried to walk up and get closer but was denied! The third pic is from behind the panels .. And it looks like the displays are built in glass. Sorry for the poor quality photos.

Yep - I was just there a couple of weeks ago. It's the perfect location - you can get people who may otherwise not want to carry an Apple bag from another location in the city on the subway to get to Grand Central on their way home, or for people coming into the city who just have to get a new laptop, iPad or iPhone before going to their job/hotel/etc.

The store's 300 staff members have been in training for some time now...

I wonder if the store's 300 rats have also been training for some time now... :)

Looks as nice as the Covent Garden Apple Store. Old meets new architecture.

Are Apple stores packed with customers, or just full of teens updating their Facebook pages and checking email?

Oh Aiden.

According to RetailSails, Apple's brick-and-mortar stores generate more sales per square foot than any other U.S. retailer. The research firm, which examined the top 20 U.S. retail chains, said that Apple generated global sales of over $14 billion in its stores during the trailing four quarters. At the time of RetailSails' study, Apple had 327 stores with an average size of nearly 7,900 square feet. Thus, the research firm calculated that Apple makes $5,626 per square foot of floor space.
