3 decades ago Dr. Dean Ornish (University of San Francisco) and Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn (Cleveland Clinic) showed how to arrest and to reverse coronary artery disease (the killer number one in western countries). They proofed it with medical imaging (coronary angiography). Many landmark studies followed, and up to now thousands of doctors and cardiologists try (but struggle) to spread the knowledge... because no one cares. Apple is the next in line not to care. Instead, Apple promotes fancy stuff that does not have the power to arrest, let alone reverse, coronary artery disease. Disheartening!!

Since when has Apple said a healthy diet is not a part of getting healthy? There are plenty of opportunities for healthy eating available, and Apple generally only provide advances in areas that they can impact through technology. In fact they speak about healthy food on their health page. Plus the Ornish diet, whilst helpful in reducing coronary disease, needs supplements to be truly healthy. It doesn’t supply all of the nutrients the body needs to stay healthy.

Can people really not exercise without the assistance of Apple and/or a reward! People would be a lot healthier if they spent far less time looking at their electronic devises and git in with life
Well, I generally do 45 mins or so using Fitness Plus (which is super inspiring for me), and I do it every day. But it encouraged me to go over 60 mins the first time in quite a while. Is that a bad thing?

Did you write all that just to set up this pun?

Hell no, it is a good thing. You used the Apple Watch, and this particular challenge, to, you know, challenge yourself. 👍

I will be doing the same. Originally I was going to pass on a run today. Between this challenge, and the likely 7-8 inches of snow we are going to get (mid Ohio) that will reduce the times I can run over the next week, I plan on getting in a 7 mile run later today.

The Activity app on the watch also helps me get better quality exercise on a regular basis, which is a good thing.

Jokes aside, I do wish Apple would release a fitness band. I have zero interest in a watch but wouldn't mind Apples tech in regards to a fitness band.

Not sure if this is a bug, but the award didn't show for me after I've done 60 mins of exercise. I've waited 2+ hours and still nothing. Then I restarted my iPhone and Watch and then the award showed up right away:
Confirmed that restarting the phone and watch I got the badge. Not sure why this is needed though.
