Apple's 'HomePad' Now Rumored to Launch Even Later Than Expected

I mean the Neo is nice but its not for me I’m not a student anymore, and my M2 works fine for my tasks so I don’t have to upgrade to a M5
This being pushed back again
No new apple tv announced this week
Apple intelligence still being a failure reeking of vaporware
Siri still being ass
I’ve lost all hope 🙁 Apple….

At this rate, Apple will try to hold a December 31, 2026 media event just so they can say that they released Siri in 2026 of this year. This is an absolute joke!! Apple is blinded by their arrogance.

Apple tv delayed, again. Mac Mini M5, Siri, all delayed.

does this mean that HomPod mini will also be pushed pack to the Fall? I was rather hoping for the Summer, perhaps for WWDC.
 
I get and agree with the sarcasm about this, though to be fair Apple has never announced it so it's not a real delay, or Airpower. They are obviously waiting for Siri to be useful and robust, because this completely fails without that...having a HomePod not know things or act stupid is fine, it's a glorified speaker, but if this is constantly flailing and doing a default Google search that forces you to walk across the room then no one will ever buy another one. They have to get it right and can't do that without AI of some kind, so the delay is understandable.

I'm not really sure about getting this, if it actually works we might try one in the kitchen, but for us the use case isn't really any better than what we are doing with smart home stuff through an AppleTV. But, I am very interested int he rumored outdoor camera and doorbell, those might be useful. Especially the doorbell, one that stays connected and doesn't require some subscription to tell me there's someone at the door would be a very good thing.

At one time, I would have said that the Apple TV interface was what blew away everything else. Now? No—the focus on advertising in the TV app and not on allowing the user to curate their own queue has made me seriously question if I'll stick with the Apple TV hardware (and this is coming from an Apple TV user going back to the very first gen).

I love how they still try so hard to justify Mark Gurman’s lies. He is a liar, a scammer. Deal with it, apologize from your readers for sharing lies of that scammer and thats it.

Honestly at this point I wouldn’t even trust the first gen of this since it will probably be launching with 2 year old hardware unless Apple is still internally updating it, but knowing the history with first gen products always launching with outdated hardware I kinda doubt it
 
So once again Gurman has been proven wrong 🧐,..according to him it should have launched 3 times already by now!
 
Could be further delayed. Possible for it to be announced in October, if not I will not be surprised, if it launches only by April-June 2027.

It makes a lot of sense.

If they launch too early, they’ll run into a well known technical industry problem called “All hat, no cattle”.
 
The HomePod as described, a product looking for a problem to solve. Currently Apple users have several hubs already. Apple TV’s and HomePods. No need for more screens and microphones either. A watch, iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple TV, HomePods, are enough. If the hub was a server for Ai, offloading a big portion of the data from the cloud, that would be of value. However, no need for a screen or even a microphone. The problems today are not solved with more screens and microphones.

You have a smart home? Do you have multiple people in your home who need to operate that smart home? If the answer is no then fine, this product is not going to be for you.

Yes a shame because Jobs always pushed for the best tech possible. The Smart Home is about to explode into reality with Matter and Thread allowing widespread compatibility instead of the silos that existed. When things just work they become incredibly useful.

I’m ready to make upgrades to my home for lights, shades and security but I need good hubs for Mattter/Thread that will feed it into our Home app. I want upgraded AppleTVs to support everything. Take my money!

I’ll bet you it was ever only something Gurman made up for attention and he’ll say it was cancelled when in truth it never existed. 🙂 If it ships this year, we’re both wrong LOL
