Some of Apple's iCloud services appear to be experiencing an outage, based on a multitude of reports that MacRumors has received and hundreds of complaints on Twitter.

According to the Apple System Status page, there are issues with iCloud Backup, iCloud Mail, iCloud Storage Upgrades, iCloud.com, iMessage, and Game Center. Some users are unable to log into the iCloud website, and others are having trouble with app-specific passwords or are seeing a message about an issue with connecting to Apple ID servers.

There are reports about the iCloud issues from multiple countries, though it is not clear if all users are affected at this time. The iCloud outage has been ongoing since yesterday afternoon.

Apple earlier this morning said that the iCloud outage had been fixed and the company updated the System Status page, but after continued complaints from users and ongoing connectivity problems, Apple again changed the System Status page to note several issues. We'll update this article when Apple is able to address the iCloud outage.

Hah. So far so ok on my side but holy. Are even inside apple they are wishing software will just “magically fix” on their own? Or they are secretly experimenting AI maintained software or sth?

Given apple rarely publish updates about outage and based on last developer unhappy about iCloud article, I feel apple is caring less and less about cloud storage and the fundamentals of each service, but more and more on getting shiny new stuff with maybe just enough polishing. No wonder some services are cheaper than other counterparts.

Yep. Having all sorts of problems -iphone keeps asking me to log in but then tells me I’m disconnected and password doesn’t work, and i tried to set up an apple sign-in on a website and that didn’t work either.

I just tried to log into Apple ID a few minutes ago and it took like 30 seconds to return the fingerprint ID challenge. Then when I authenticatd with my fingerprint it said it couldn't connect.

I have been unable to log into the iCloud website for over a month. I was escalated all the way up to some iCloud engineering team and had to submit logs from Safari. I have also been unable to Live Collaborate on any iWork document. To me, this seems like an issue that has slowly been working its way to being more widespread.

Is this related to the CloudKit issues that developers have been experiencing for a while now? According to some developer posts on Twitter, the CloudKit issues may be related to rate limiting.
