Apple's beautiful Passeig de Gràcia store in the heart of Barcelona, Spain has been temporarily closed for renovations since mid-February, but the location is finally set to reopen next month. The store will resume business on May 26, according to Apple's website.

Apple Passeig de Gràcia first opened in 2012, and it is one of the company's flagship retail locations. The store is on one of the most popular avenues in Barcelona, inside a historic former bank building with a stunning stone facade.

Apple has another store in Barcelona at the Westfield La Maquinista shopping mall.

Thanks, Filip Chudzinski!

I wonder what kind of renovation they’ve carried out. The store was perfect, but it had lost the wow factor it had in its first decade. Then came the addition of a giant screen for hosting “workshops,” which never really excited me. Apple Stores should be designed to honor the experience of the product, and to restore that sense of magic and wonder. In that respect, it had recently become too predictable: tables with different products placed on them, all sitting side by side. In a future where Apple seems likely to make many more iPhone models coexist (foldable, Air, etc.), they need to improve product differentiation.

Did they add air conditioning?

I remember it being very hot inside when outside it was a nice, beautiful day.
