"Don't tell me about the press. I know exactly who reads the papers:
- The Daily Mirror is read by people who think they run the country;
- The Guardian is read by people who think they ought to run the country;
- The Times is read by people who actually do run the country;
- The Daily Mail is read by the hypocondriac wives of the people who run the country;
- The Financial Times is read by people who own the country;
- The Independent is read by people who don't care about the country, they just want to save the dolphins;
- The Express is read by people who think Princess Di was killed by the people who run the country;
- The Morning Star is read by people who think the country ought to be run by another country;
- And the Daily Telegraph is read by people who think it is."

"What about the people who read the Sun?"

"Sun readers don't care who runs the country, as long as she's got big tits."

:p

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; CPU iPhone OS 5_0_1 like Mac OS X) AppleWebKit/534.46 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.1 Mobile/9A405 Safari/7534.48.3)

It's a rumour. And if you take a look at the name of this site & the level of traffic/discussion this has generated. I'd consider it to be a worthwhile contribution.

Plus "The Guardian" article doesn't confirm or deny that Apple have been sniffing around. Simply that it is "believed" (again with no verifiable sources) that they haven't.

I still wouldn't be surprised if Apple were interested. I would be surprised if they won it from someone like SKY...Or if they outbid Al Jazeera.

You can almost get any game in any sports if you know what to do.

Yes, by means of illegal streams. By that logic, Apple should never have started a music store, because you can get almost any song (for free) if you know what to do.

I don't own a TV and I don't intend to ever buy one, but the mere possibility of subscribing to a football streaming service directly on my iPad fills me with glee. Make it happen, Apple.

I sure hope this happens. I would so subscribe to that in an instant! Sadly Soccer (for those of us in the US) is not shown often on TV here. Mostly because of the way the game is played, adding commercials makes it difficult to earn money on. Thus streaming it from Apple and having it a paid subscription is prefect.

Please make this happen.

I live in the UK, and I watch all of my games via Foxsoccer and a VPN. Sky's coverage is horrendously expensive in the UK, and if you're not Man Utd, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool, or Man City, you're hardly ever on there.

Give Fox soccer a whirl, it's pretty good in terms of the number of games they show.

No Fox Soccer available here. :( ESPN seems to have games on only at random times. GolTV, not available either. :( Maybe NBC Sports will fix that problem... I hope.

Not available here or not available with your current provider?

Can't you legally stream FoxSoccer's content from their website? Or are there inter state broadcasting laws prohibiting this sort of thing in the US?

I never realised it was sourced from the Daily Fail, sorry Mail.

Hopefully MacRumors are once bitten, twice shy as regards the most useless newspaper in our country.

Great summary and insight of the british press; so the "Sun" will not make it to the newsstand in my iPad

they could say the same thing about Digitimes and Analysts as well. But then they would have nothing to write about

Don't know if it's the echo chamber effect, or real, but another article on this, this time claiming "Apple Sources".

Apple's interest was first revealed by Charles Sale of London's Daily Mail newspaper and was confirmed to ThePostGame by Apple sources on Thursday. The company is still in the early stage of formulating its bidding plans, but is keen to expand its sports packages...
