Probably not. 50+ security fixes sounds like a lot, but they found just as many last year with 18.4.Wonder if this is related to Mythos?

Fairly simple, to show Apple that I have a spine and will not bow down to such bad behavior. What do you think you’ll accomplish?
Does anyone know if many of those same 50 security vulnerabilities exist in iOS 18.7.2 (which is the latest version of iOS 18 for iPhones that are capable of running iOS 26)?The iOS 26.5 and iPadOS 26.5 updates Apple released today address more than 50 security vulnerabilities, which means it's worth updating soon if you haven't done so already.
I am going to wait a couple of weeks. Given Apple’s track record, you don’t know what they broke.I rather update and be better protected and deal with ads, than be at risk.
you can update to 18.7.8Does anyone know if many of those same 50 security vulnerabilities exist in iOS 18.7.2 (which is the latest version of iOS 18 for iPhones that are capable of running iOS 26)?
Yes, plus you have the 35+ missing security fixes from 26.3 and the 35+ security fixes from 26.4. They backported some of those patches, but 18.7.2 is several versions behind now.Does anyone know if many of those same 50 security vulnerabilities exist in iOS 18.7.2 (which is the latest version of iOS 18 for iPhones that are capable of running iOS 26)?
Apple's iOS developers are like, "See what we can accomplish when there are no A.I. and Siri engineers around?"I am not so sure. 18.4 had 50+ security updates too. 18.5 had 30+. Maybe it is just at this time of year they are done playing with actual OS features and optimizations and get around to prioritizing security.
It seems these 50 security flaws are not as severe as the vulnerabilities related to DarkSword or Coruna exploits 😃Yet, they limited the release of iOS 18.7.9 and iPadOS 18.7.9 to devices that cannot upgrade to iOS 26.x
You forgot that 26.0 and 26.1 and 26.2 and 26.3 and 26.4 also included security patches?Always a critical update at the same time as the introduction of a feature people don’t want
I’ve been on Tahoe since last year. Everything works well. Its highly unlikely anything will break.Still holding on to Sequoia. There are some nice features that Tahoe offers, but I have too much working correctly right now to go and screw it all up by "upgrading". No hate to Tahoe (except the corner radii.)
They aren’t even ads, really. They’re place recommendations. And they’re anonymized. Its no different from someone having a sponsor in a YouTube video. Additionally, you can very easily just ignore said recommendations by not tapping on them and scrolling right past them.Nope. Not touching iOS 26.5.
Ads in maps is the deal breaker for me.
Absolutely NO, Apple!
You do realize they are going to do it anyways? You’re one person out of billions of Apple users. You’re in the minority of people who actually care about these sponsored recommendations. And I don’t think spines have anything to do with “rejecting” something Apple is going to add regardless. Are you seriously going to stay on 26.4.1 until the end of time, over anonymized recommendations? The security issues that have been fixed outweigh getting sponsored place recommendations in the search tab.Fairly simple, to show Apple that I have a spine and will not bow down to such bad behavior.
If we do not take a stand, the companies are just continue to go down this path.
And they all included Liquid Glass... a feature some people didn't want 😝You forgot that 26.0 and 26.1 and 26.2 and 26.3 and 26.4 also included security patches?
"Other updates Apple released today also include multiple security fixes. For iPhone and iPad users unable to install iOS 26, Apple released iOS 18.7.9"
"For users unable to install" omfg - why not release those updates for users who simply don't want iOS26? Are they so paranoid about share price they can't say "some users prefer to remain on iOS18"? Don't answer that.
Yes, that is indeed what it means; 23F77 is the final build of 26.5 and was released to everyone today, and it matches what was released as RC 2 last week.If I was using the 26.5 latest beta (RC 2) and now that the final 26.5 is released, I'm not being prompted to update, does that mean that the build I had is the same number as the publicly released 26.5 from today?
