Apple still has a very long way to go with GPU performance and getting Metal adopted, the M1 and M2 are just to replace Intel/AMD for the majority of people. I would not hold my breath for any advanced GPU stuff in the coming year. If this is what your are looking for you are on the wrong platform.
Yeah sure, but since it’s a unified CPU/GPU chip, it worth noting, as you said, that graphics wise AppleSilicon can’t compare with AMD/NVIDIA GPUs.

Sites also keep posting half backed comparisons to NVIDIA RTX 3060/3070/3080 but they never take shaders, advanced graphical features availability and Real-time Raytracing into account. Specially now a days, in a time where Applications are becoming hungry for graphics and AR/VR moving into the foreground, it’s important to highlight these drawbacks. Nobody will be satisfied with a VR experience that looks like crap, and VR is mainly about getting near reality graphics.

I imagine his compensation is a blank check.
Imagine some snowflakes at Apple have issues working under his organizational hierarchy! ;)

Here is PROOF yet again that sometimes being stern gets things done!

There were too many snowflakes and disgruntled people at Apple hating against Forstall.

Accolades of Forstall:
1. Massively won internal pitting of iPod to a phone bs him bringing OS X kernel to iPhone! This alone is a mic drop!
2. Working with Microsoft when they finally matured ActiveSync (for those who know how junk that was in the early days know this was the camel that broke blackberries back)! Remember at the time of iPhone 3 sales were still below blackberries but coming up fast!! A huge throw down here because:
A) many corporations already switched to on premises Exchange servers with activeSync
B) BES servers were still too costly and stuck you into their ecosystem which was extremely short sighted.
3. App Store - huge benefit to customers, developers $kaching! And Apple as well. Another mic drop!
4. Time Machine!!
Huge mic drop and many long time forum members also chimes in how huge this was!
5. Really this should be #2 but the quality of app icons being focused on surely annoyed new developers BUT they acquiesced and brought their A game that honestly made the iPhone a truly beautiful experience time and time again. It took Android almost 12yrs to catch up in this regard regardless of launches and skins it still lacked unless you had a specific launcher for a specific Android phone model.

BUT because of Maps having sat issues that Apple did NOT create themselves at the time, internally snowflakes had internal emotional issues working for a strong lead and with Cook having issues with the close friendship Jobs and Forstall had tried to force him to make a public apology he was NOT at fault for. Proof: Apple collects their own maps data for a few years now and had to evoke the UI therafter NOT before collecting their own data to correct issues like turning on a bridge.

The difference here is Cook desperately NEEDs Mr Srouji our digital sugar Daddy!

Too bad there aren't more tech leaders like him. I've had to suffer through a lot of weak managers who could only focus on successes, could never say no, and couldn't handle the truth even if gently handed to them.
Do you also report to my manager? In the four years I’ve worked with him, he hasn’t once said no. It might sound wonderful at first, until you realize he doesn’t have any strong opinions, doesn’t have a vision, and generally doesn’t have a spine. He’s a great manager, will always approve your holidays and expense reports. But he’s not a leader or a visionary. Eh..

I just got my Mac Studio to replace my 2012 Mac mini - and I have got to say - it is fast - fast -fast and runs cool. I though a home video rendering, while running photos doing some work there and listening to PodCasts and working on work items through Office 365 all at the same time and there was no lags, beachballs, or anything.

I am very impressed with how the Apple Silicon capabilities have matured.
