Yeah how could Apple be so dense? it's all about what you Apple's #1 customer wants, and not about what everyone else wants.

Makes sense, it's both an iphone and an iPad mini. It's probably cheaper than buying both separately.
Only thing dense here is your response to *my* post about what *i* think and what *i* want. I dont see anywhere where i called in question anything to do with apples choices or other peoples requirements?? Try reading next time.

I definitely want a foldable (and I actually considered getting an Android foldable prior to all of these iPhone rumors), but I’m having difficulty justifying paying over $1k for my current phone! And then there’s the Apple 1st Gen curse that I swore I’d never tempt again.

I really don’t wanna believe a word of this, there is no way that Apple has invented some new form of plastic that is flexible and doesn't feel like sh*t, yet here we are
Yeah, there's really no question that foldables are ALL expensive garbage.

There is no such thing as a folding screen that doesn't have an ugly crease and feel horrible to touch. And there won't be without breakthroughs in materials science.

This falls into the "never buy at any price" category.

5.5" is comparable to an iphone mini.

I don't need or want a larger unfolded screen, though. Something like the Moto Razr 40 or 50 would be nice.

I'm not going to buying it either way, so just venting.

I can only imagine the choice that was offered to the design team: 1. An open car door that's ready to slam your balls into as the door repeatedly slams closed, or 2. A foldable iphone.

Right now the 1st option is slightly more appealable to me....

Guys they’re super, duper cereal this time. For real.

Finally we can spend double on a device with half the durability and a big crease down the middle!

Bezels. Edge to edge screens make no sense in tablets, you need somewhere to hold them.

That explains even less. If the tablet mode has bezels; then the physical size is even bigger, so the front display (which doesn't require bezels) should be even larger.

Unless you mean bezels on the front which'll just make it look like a 1st gen samsung fold which'll make it dead in the water.

Really hope the "no seam" pans out, as it would make using the folding device as a portable/pocketable digital sketchpad awesome; also, please allow storage for an included Apple Pencil Pro...! ;^p

An iPhone and iPad mini in one. Could be interesting.
Would be interesting if the software would support it. Don’t see Apple coming up with an iOS or iPadOS that fully supports it.

iOS on the outer screen when folded, iPadOS on the (larger) inner screen when unfolded...

It looks more like a mini ipad that folds out into a book than it does a phone. I just thought of something, if it opens up like a book then its gonna be weird when theyre on the phone with someone because its gonna look like everyone has this big book theyre holding to their ear when theyre on the phone with someone. But I know these days most ppl dont call ppl and if they do they put them on speaker. I would never buy a phone that cost in the $1-2,000 range

If one has the money for this iPhone/iPad mini folding device, one most likely has the money for a pair of AirPods, so no need to hold the device to your ear...?

I'd be interested to see simple based on the fact that it is the mini size. However, if the price point is what everyone expects it to be (~$2.5K), that's a deal breaker.

I don't need a fancy phone. I just need a mini size that can text and message. I don't care about cameras or AI. I have my Nikon for camera.

So no flip option and we continue on with absolutely nothing on offer for those who don’t want a ginormous phablet thing.
You cannot please everyone: This rumored phone option enables a phone to be far more useful, versatile, and more useful on-the-go for power users that overlaps with iPad Mini / iPad use cases to omit such devices.

For those who read, type, or consume a lot on the go, a foldable phone is ergonomically better than a slab phone in a wide variety of ways.

Far easier to type things and less likely to drop when used expanded.
